Trip to Missouri

Tristan had time off of school for a week, so we took a trip up to Missouri to visit my brother Jake and his wife Jen and their kids. We had tons of fun and wished they all lived a little bit closer so the drive wasn't so long. Doctor made me promise I would get out and walk around every 2 hours.
We also had the chance to visit a Amish town and buy some apple butter. Yummy!! We both LOVE the swing in the backyard. Surprisingly I fit on it. :) It sits on a hill so the ground drops beneath you as you swing.
My niece Sydney, and nephew, Jackson, on a carousel at the mall in Columbia.
My niece Kate enjoying herself at the park.
Tristan found a swing just the right size. I'm just glad he can't fall out in case he forgets to hold on.
Thanks for letting us come play Jake and Jen! We sure miss you all.

33 Weeks

I can't believe how much bellies can stretch! I'm glad I'm getting near the end. It's getting harder to do my daily chores.

Baby Shower

On Saturday my good friends threw me a baby shower. It was SO fun! :) This baby will be ready for just about anything now.

Megan, Amanda, me, Talia with Owen and Carma with Hank.

Megan made me this awesome diaper cake.

Lindsey, one of the hosts, made everything look and taste SO great! All the food even matched. In fact, looking at this picture makes me want to go back to that table and make another plate-ful! It was so tasty!

Thank you Lindsey, Carma and Michelle!!!

30 weeks

I keep promising that I'll post pregnancy pictures. Basically most my posts from now on will be pregnancy or baby. :) How exciting for you all!
This was 2 weeks ago at 30 weeks. I'm 32 weeks now and all the pregnancy books say, "Prepare for the baby to have a growth spurt. You will be gaining about a pound a week."
I won't tell you what I officially weigh as of last night, we'll just say I wasn't a very happy camper going to bed. Tristan was very nice to me, though. That's why I married him. :)
Those Scrubs fans out there will know what I'm talking about when I mention the episode where Dr. Cox calls Jordan into the hospital to talk to Carla and as she comes the cup on the counter starts getting ripples...yes, like Jurassic Park.
On a side note, though, I've been really lucky with a pretty easy pregnancy. Hopefully it stays that way, but I enjoy to some extent being pregnant...as long as there is an end.

Valentine's Day

I know I'm a couple weeks late, but this was our Valentine's dinner. We celebrated the Sunday after the holiday since we catered someone else's Valentine's dinner the day of.

Tristan took time out of his busy classes to mold me a heart. He's the best!! Here's to you, Love!
I had to add this picture because it's right after I set the camera timer and realized I couldn't get back in my chair because my belly was too big!

6 Things That Make Me Happy

I was tagged by my sister-in-law, Brittany, to write 6 things that make me happy.

1. Tristan
2. Our baby
3. Lip Gloss (I don't think I've ever put it on when I've been sad)
4. Vacuuming...is that weird? I really do like it.
5. Seeing income in our bank account...wahoo!
6. Putting on warm clothes out of the dryer, especially when they smell like "mountain spring"

I tag Michelle K., Abby, Courtney, Cat, Carma and Bri

Baby's Pictures

Here are a few ultrasound pics...about time, huh? I know, I know.
I wish I had more, but I'm sure in time this blog will be dedicated to baby's daily antics. :)
This is one of those 3D pictures. He's the little round thing @ 7 weeks. You are looking at his back and head and I like to think you can see his ear (if he has them at this point) and what look like frog legs on the sides of his body. :) Our cute little amphibian!
This picture is not 3D, but you can see his little foot was kicking...that's the blurry thing near the middle of the picture.
Here he is at 19 weeks when we found out it was a boy. This is his creepy picture. Yes cool, but still creepy.
And here is my favorite, his profile. Tristan's mom says it looks just like Tristan's profile when he was a baby. The line with a ball on top is his arm and fist. How cute is that little guy! (I also think he has a mouth and nose like a Who down in Whoville). :)

Waterworks I Don't Pay For

When it comes to movies, I'm not a crier. Not even the movie "Charlie."
Besides this little movie that made me have to buy a new box of tissues, and a new 24 jumbo pack of extra absorbent toilet paper... (you think I'm kidding)...
the last movie I shed a tear in was this. I think I was around 9.
The other night I watched this little music video with Tristan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIOHUR2TWPU
I think we are out of tissues and toilet paper again. Those sweet little bunnies.
I'm blaming it on the pregnancy. Sometimes I can't even make it through an Allstate commercial. Maybe I should try "Charlie" again...I guess I still have paper towels in the kitchen....

Just Stuff

Anyone who can vouch for this I'd like to know. Either the weather is making my brain foggy or being pregnant has seriously shrunk my thinker. I feel like I can't write anything creative or just the fact I forget to update for weeks.
Here are some random pictures for you all.
If you want to know what Snoopy will look like in a year, I took this picture of Tristan and my nephew Isaiah. He was born before Tristan and I met, but Heidi claims she'd never seen Tristan before I introduced them when we were dating.
This picture was taken about 3 weeks ago, I'm going to post another one soon. It seems every week there is more to love. :)And last is a picture of me playing mini golf. Doesn't it look like I have a pillow stuffed by my belly?!!!

Our Holiday Pictures...Finally

Some pictures from our trip back to Utah just so you all know we haven't forgotten we have a blog to keep updated.
Several times we spent nights playing Scrabble. Just so you know, Funkyclowntown, as seen in the right of the picture, gets you a TON of points. (Yes it was acceptable in our rules of play.) :)
On Christmas Day we got snowed in and hardly made it to my parents, only 5 minutes away. Tristan spent the morning snowblowing with our old dog, Thomas, at his heels. I love white Christmases. The snow almost prevented us from leaving Utah.
My family owns a cabin up Parley's Canyon and we spent one evening sledding...well, I watched and Tristan sledded...okay, maybe I went down once...or three times. But I was on my hands and knees, even though I think the baby LOVED it.
This is our cabin. I think it was built about 90 years ago.
As we were driving home, we crossed the Texas border into Oklahoma and passed three large trucks that were carrying the Budweiser Clydesdales. They were on their way to Florida for the Championship Bowl.
I know, I know...it lacks in creativity. I'm sure there will be better posts soon. Enjoy. :)

Congratulations!!

I have to post how proud I am of Tristan. He just got the results back from taking his boards and he "nailed" them. (You may all tell me how funny and witty that was.) ;)
After months of studying and late nights and hard work, finally it is over and he did so well! I am so proud of all the hard work he does for us. Congrats to you, Honey!

Boy, Oh Boy!

That's right, it's a BOY!

After months of secrets, we finally surprised our friends and family in Utah that we are expecting! They couldn't believe my little tummy, even though I feel that at 5 months there is nothing little about it, or will be for quite a while.

We had a lot of friends keeping the secret with us, and I don't think I want to keep it that long again. It is SO hard to watch what you post and what you let others post. :) But thanks to everyone who shared with us...it was WELL worth the look on all their faces.

Here are some tummy pictures that have been held back over the months. I'll get up some ultrasound pictures too.

The day we found out and I surprised Tristan with the little hat....it says "Future Cougar".

About 8 weeks....the before pictures. (note: I cropped my goofy expressions out...I hope you didn't want to see my face.) :)
About 15 weeks.
About 18 weeks.
Our Halloween costumes! No, we weren't Chef Boyardee and his stove, as was the popular guess.
My surprised mom in the middle of a grocery store. It was priceless!!
The day we found out it was a boy we bought some little blue outfits.
We call our little one Snoopy until we have a name. I happened to see this car in Utah. It looks EXACTLY like my car!
How I look today at 20 weeks and the shirt I surprised my family with.

Tis the Season

Since I will be gone early for Christmas Tristan and I have tried to do as many things as possible to get into the Christmas spirit.

We went with our friends Chris and Bri to Chickasha to see the lights display there.  It was sooo much fun.  They did a really good job with it.

We also went with Beau and Paola to a place called Dry Gultch.

It is a recreated old timey western town north of Tulsa.

They have an old steam
train that you get to take a ride on and have many neat shops and things.

O' Christmas Tree

We have almost completed putting up our Christmas tree. Being newlyweds and not having any traditions or money for anything, we decided that for Christmas decorations we would get a pine cone from everywhere we visit together.  We have gathered pine cones from Mississippi to Austria and from Croatia to the Grand Canyon.  Every year the number of places and pine cones increase a little.  We love our little Christmas tree, simple and beautiful but with so much meaning behind it.

Trip to Missouri

I spent the last week in Missouri while Tristan studied for the boards. On the drive I ate lunch at the world's largest McDonald's in Vinita, OK. :) It sits right over the freeway. (Yes, those are trucks driving underneath.)My brother, Jake and his wife Jen at Shakespeare's Pizza in Columbia. We had so much fun, but I have to say that I'm glad that this whole test is over with!! Tristan studied so hard ad has put so much effort into doing well. I am so proud of him!
