Before and After Kitchen

I've FINALLY posted pictures of our kitchen before and after we remodeled it. Back in January it flooded when a pipe burst from an ice storm. Tristan's parents came out in March to help us redo it all during Spring Break. There still needs to be odds and ends done, but it was a long enough wait to get these pics up. So here they are!! Notice the careful-picture-taking so as not to look in the other rooms. That's where I piled Gideon's toys and other things to make it look cleaner than it actually is. :)

BEFORE

DURING
Ripped up floor, cabinets taken down, ceiling scraped of awful popcorn texture.
Carpet ripped up.
Painted walls.
Tiled fireplace.
Piled everything from backrooms into kitchen and dining room for carpet to be laid.

AFTER
Sorry about all the pictures, It's hard to get just one good picture through a doorway to show it all.
(We also fixed up the dining room and front room while we were at it.) YAY for new carpet throughout the WHOLE house and tile in the dining room. Seriously, why is it ever a good idea to put carpet in the dining room?!!!

BEFORE

AFTER
We are so glad Tristan's parents could come out and help us! The house looks SO much better, and a lot more functional. :)

Hailstorm

We're such good friends with our insurance agency, we like to keep in touch with them on a monthly basis. (It counts if you pay them to be your friend, right?!!)
Tristan walked in with these pieces of hail. "Wow, those are huge!" I said. I'd never seen hail larger than a dime.
Then he walked in with these. I stand corrected.
BTW- Tris has huge hands...these were like poolball size.
This one buried itself into our lawn.
Our poor dimpled cars.
I risked life and limb...and my toe, to save my vegetables. They were doing so well. Maybe a miracle will bring them back.

When Your Street is the Getaway

As I was cleaning the house I kept hearing helicopters outside. Then 2 cops went speeding down our street doing at least 50mph with their lights...then 3 more cruisers. Curiosity took me outside, and we spotted 3 helicopters circling our neighborhood, and more cops coming through.
I still hear them. I guess they are looking for one more person.

The links on the news sites I found.

Gideon thought the "birds" were so cool!
You know when you take a picture of the HUGE moon and it's really little? Well, these helicopters are on the far side of their circle overhead, even though they look miles away. One is in the bottom right, bottom left and one in the middle.

Spaghetti for Dinner

We had spaghetti for dinner.
And then I gave Gideon a bath.
Does this kind of remind you of the pink in Cat and the Hat?

Fishing and Stuff

Before we even started, Gideon decided that fishing was exhausting.

I caught one!! But was too scared to touch it.

Tristan caught the biggest one of the day!

Sleepyhead decided to join the fun.

Just to prove to Tristan I wasn't a wimp, I actually held one after he convinced me it wouldn't start wiggling or bite my finger. (Can you tell I'm ready to throw it back once I hear the picture snap?!!)

Muldrow, OK

Over the weekend we took a break from the city and went fishing in the country. I actually have pictures of Tristan and I! Can you believe it!?! Well, they are not uploaded on the computer yet. So, until then, here are some a friend took...
